Abstract: | The article deals with the linguistic means of word-formation and lexico-semantic levels, which form the basis of language games and contribute to the implementation of destructive speech strategies in the media. The necessity to study this topic is caused by the ability of the media to have a manipulative impact on a wide audience, to form public behav-ior, to create the desired attitude of addressee to an object/event. Manipulative effect is understood as the presence of lin-guistic means of influence and the use of their peculiar features in accordance with the latent purpose of the speaker (the author). The article describes the following types of manipulative intervention: persuasiveness, suggestivity, referential and argumentative influence and their kinds: factual and focusing influence and sophistic influence (distorting the logic of the text development while formally giving the impression of the true course of events). The study is based on the texts of periodi-cals (newspapers) and television news releases of English-language and Russian-language media. В статье рассматриваются языковые средства словообразовательного и лексико-семантического уровней, являющиеся основой языковой игры и способствующие реализации деструктивных речевых стратегий в массмедиа. |
