Abstract

This article considers how the poetry of the first and the last thirds of the twentieth century correlate in terms of the practices of text production. It establishes the logic of the development of aesthetic consciousness as evolving from an urge to transcend the bounds of subjectivity, to overstep the limits of stagnant world view, and to achieve a thorough delineation and safeguarding of the boundaries of the subject under the conditions of a chaotic, disintegrating being. Differences in objectives condition diverse meanings of similar experiments (for example, in the sphere of intermediality) in modernism and postmodernism.
