Аграрная символика в поэме У. Ленгленда "Видение о Петре Пахаре"

Abstract

В статье исследуется аллегорическая образность поэмы У. Ленгленда "Видение о Петре Пахаре". Автор статьи рассматривает аграрные мотивы пахоты, сева и жатвы, являющиеся частью композиции этого произведения. Они отражают современный поэту крестьянский быт, но также наполнены символикой, берущей начало из Библии. Библейская аграрная символика, на основе которой строится аллегорическое действие "Видения о Петре Пахаре", играет важнейшую роль в образе Петра Пахаря и в идейном комплексе поэмы.

The article investigates the allegoric imagery of the poem "Piers Plowman" by W. Langland. The author of the article considers the agrarian motifs of plowing, sowing, and reaping which are a component of the composition of that work of literature. They reflect the peasant routine contemporary to the poet, and besides are full of symbolism coming from the Bible. The biblical agrarian symbolism which is the basis for the allegorical action of the poem plays a most important role in the image of Piers Plowman and in the body of ideas in the poem.
