Abstract:	The article discusses some functions of paratextual remarks in the plays of "new wave". Through the analysis of director's remarks in the plays of Alexander Galin and Stepan Zlotnikov, the article's author demonstrates the augmentation of the "supporting" aspect of dramatic texts. These remarks are oriented towards the creation of an emotional atmosphere of theatrical action; due to their expressive richness they frequently serve as a mechanism of aesthetic evaluation in drama conflicts.
