Abstract: Electrical resistivity and magnetic susceptibility of Al86Ni8Sm6, Al86Ni8Gd6 and Al86Ni8Ho6 alloys are studied in a wide temperature range including amorphous, crystalline and liquid states. The negative value of resistivity temperature coefficient in amorphous ribbons is explained by the structural separation starting much before the beginning of their crystallization. The effective magnetic moments per Gd and Ho atoms are found to be essentially lower than for R3+ ions. The results are discussed in supposition of directed bonds between rare earth and aluminum atoms. (C) 2016 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
