Abstract:	Childhood is considered as a through motif in the trilogy by A. Bely. In the context of symbolic novel, this motif is revealed as a metaphoric figure, a kind of spirit. Having an ambivalent nature in the novel the motif is filled firstly with the semantics of expectation and rebirth of the soul and secondly with the semantics of innocent victim.
